NSR Battery Loco

Perhaps the best known of all battery engines – because it has survived from 1917 into preservation - this North Staffordshire Railway loco was built to entirely an industrial design.

The High Level kit has almost every conceivable detail - cab fittings, operating linkages and electrical components are all included, with the springs, axleboxes and many other parts cast in brass.

In spite of its tiny proportions and rakish, wagon-like underframe, the model features a unique, totally-enclosed design of compensated, four-wheel drive motor bogie. This has a reduction ratio of 108:1 for smooth, prototypical shunting speeds.
